Allen Hardesty
Allen grew up in the Midwest. He joined the US Navy in 1977-1981.Worked at Emery worldwide from 1981-1999.Allen moved to Crawfordville in 1999 and went to work for Residential elevators in 2002 where he works as an electrical assembler. Allen has been actively involved in TNR events since 2017 and joined our board in 2020.

Jessica is a Florida Native with a passion for travel and unmeasurable love for animals. Jessica and her husband Chris live in St. Marks and enjoy traveling, spending time in nature, and loving their furbabies Rueger and Marley Bob. Jessica is a full time Realtor at Waypoint Properties in Crawfordville and part time personal trainer. Jessica joined our board in 2020.

Dr.Linda Chalker, DVM
Dr. Linda Chalker was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. She attended the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school she completed a 1 year small animal medicine and surgery internship at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and then returned to Ft. Lauderdale where she practiced for the 16 years. She and her husband and daughter moved to Wakulla County in July of 2007. The small town atmosphere, friendly people and natural beauty of Wakulla County were just what she and her family were looking for. Meeting and working with the people of PAWS she saw what a dedicated group they were and was honored when they offered her a board membership. She is beginning her second year as "Director at Large". In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her husband and daughter and reading. Her two favorite places are Wakulla Springs and St. George Island State Park. She is the owner of one dog, a Mini Australian Shepherd and an orange and white Wakulla Cat.

Jeanette Burdette, CVT
Jeanette is a certified veterinary technician at Shepherd Spring Animal Hospital. She currently attends St.Petersburg College and is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology and Hospital Management. She is serving as Paws of Wakulla's President from 2017 to current.
Jeanette is happily married to her high school sweetheart Chris and they enjoy life with their fur babies- Palmer, Oliver, Mable, Murray, Brady and Emmie.

Debbie Beard
Debbie is serving on the Paws of Wakulla Board this year as Past-President. She has passed on her love of firefighting to her oldest daughter, Meagan and her love of all-things-four-legged to her youngest daughter, Lauren.

Dr. Faith Hughes, DVM
Faith Hughes is a veterinarian at VCA Wakulla Animal Hospital. Faith was raised in Bainbridge GA, attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, and has lived in Wakulla County since 1994, working at Forest Animal Hospital (now VCA Wakulla) and enjoying the “Wakulla Life.” Faith was volunteer medical director at the shelter’s adoption center for years, helping with medical care of the homeless animals, adoption events and more. Now she helps with the Pet Meals on Wheels program, composes the Paws of Wakulla monthly e-news, and provides free veterinary services at Paws of Wakulla’s and St. George Island’s TNRs, and Pamper Your Pooch events.
Dr. Hughes is married to Bobby Inlow (UGA fan, also from Bainbridge) who is a police officer at FSU. They have a daughter, Libby, who attends the University of Florida. Their family also includes 2 cats (Chuck & Little Johnny), 2 Cocker Spaniels (Woo & Brodie), and a Yorkie mix named Scuffy.

Dr. Manuel moved to the Big Bend in 2011, and began volunteering for the TNR program based in Monticello and for the Jefferson County Humane Society. Since beginning working at Shepherd Spring Animal Hospital in Crawfordville in 2016, she is excited to be able to volunteer with PAWS and to participate in their TNR events in an effort to give back to the community. Dr.Manuel has four furbabies that inspire her everyday: one dog Goose, and three cats Finn, Margot, and Scully.

Petra Shuff- Secretary
Petra became a volunteer for the organization in 2008, and was elected to the board in 2009. She has served twice as president, vice president, and now serves as our secretary.
Petra is in charge of correspondence and heads our voucher assistance program. She also helps organize our Pamper your Pooch dog washes, and is actively involved in our TNR program and fundraising activities.

She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice.
Jessica loves animals and people. She worked as a veterinary technician through college. In her professional life, she worked as the Director of Operations at the Texas Coalition for Animal Protections, a non-profit organization. She is now a full-time, licensed Real Estate Agent with Waypoint Properties, in Crawfordville.
She enjoys nature, adventure, traveling, and enjoying the comradery of good people. Jessica has a passion for dirt bike riding, scuba diving, and backpacking
